Lets talk Lip Stains

I love lipsticks, it’s a great way to give life or color to your look. However, I am not the kind of person who would remember to reapply all day or touch it up. When I discovered lip stains it was like a godsent! Since then I’ve tried a range of them, here 5 of my absolute favs:

  1. Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20) Mauve nude, this is my favorite stain, I don’t have a lot because of the price, but its definitely worth it for a staple color.
  2. Sephora – Cream Lip Stain ($14) in Red flame and Cherry blossom – This stain is one I really do love, the only complaint I have is that it won’t stay through eating and drinking, and you NEED to put chapstick on before you have it on. Besides that the colors are super pigmented and gorgeous on.
  3. Rimmel – Provocolips ($7)  in Berry seductive, this lip stain is a full on lip stain. I have to legitimately scrub it off. For me, I haven’t  liked many of the shades but if I’m in for a night of eating and drinking, this is my go to. It really is kiss proof too!
  4. The Balm – Meet Matt(e) Hughes ($17) in Charming. I got this as a free sample in my ipsy bag and loved the shade. It also has a really great scent and it’s super creamy!
  5. Revlon – Colorstay Overtime ($11) Forever Pink and Ultimate Wine. This one has been a staple for me since college. My best friend introduced me and I almost always have one in my bag. Good all around stain.

Luxury for Less

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of high end classics and trends copied at a much more affordable price. I thought I’d gather them all together so we can all share in the trends.

Gucci Loafers: Princetown Slipper  ($595)

Steven by Steve Madden: Slip on Flats ($89)

I love the look of these slip on loafers but I definitely can’t spend five hundred plus on them! The velvet is gorgeous on these Steven ones.

For Love and Lemons Dress: Midi Dress ($119) Lace Dress  ($80) Vivian Mini Dress ($268)

Forever 21 Dresses: Mesh Lace Dress ($24.90) Eyelash Lace Set ($24.90) Floral Lace Bodycon (34.90)

The For Love and Lemons dresses are super popular right now and so is the mesh and lace trend. Thankfully you can find it for much cheaper at a variety of stores.

Stuart Weitzman: Highland Boots ($798) // Steve Madden Over the Knee Boots: Emotions ($100!)

Chloe Bag:Marcie Mini ($795) // Forever 21 Bag: Tassel Crossbody ($22.90)

 Payless booties:Buckle Boot ($29.99) // Givenchy Boots ($1,395)

I have always loved those Givenchy booties but I almost love the Payless ones more! It’s a great way to do the trend in an understated way.

Burberry Trench: The Kensington ($1,795) // Forever 21 Tench: Classic Trench ($42)

I added this one in because although not as trendy, it’s always a classy staple to have in your wardrobe. And I know I want the Burberry one, but the Forever 21 one is MUCH cheaper and just as beautiful.

I hope this gave some inspiration to hunt for the trends elsewhere!

New Year, New Closet?

Illusion Waist Tank // Faux Suede Bomber Jacket// Embroidered Boots

There’s something about a new year that makes you really want to change up your wardrobe. I for one am thinking I want to wear more black this year, I have never really had in my wardrobe and I’m feeling like as a New Yorker it’s a must. Never the less, here are some items that I’ve been eyeing to change up my style in 2017.

Take My Away Wrap Blouse // Navy Velvet Body Suit

These are two styles that I have been wanting in my wardrobe, I can’t get enough of the collar trend or anything velvet.

Black Strapless Jumpsuit – also comes in Navy! This is exactly like a Lovers and Friends one EXCEPT its $59. Perfect date night or going out look!

Gray Booties – Super cute and unique!

Beaded Mini Skirt// Splendid Coated Leggings

Kind of obsessed with embroidered skirts lately, they are such a statement piece for your outfit. These leggings are also super comfortable and “look” like leather without breaking the bank.

Fur and Knit Vest // All Mine Sweater // One Teaspoon Fuzzy Black Sweater

These are a few pieces from Nordstrom that I had wanted to get in 2016, but didn’t purchase, and you know you sometimes just can’t forget about certain clothes you want? The red sweater is a nice length and I love the color.

What items do you want for 2017?

Marvel in Montana

Recently I was lucky enough to travel to Montana and take in the gorgeous mountains and beautiful trails. I hit the slopes of Big Sky Mountain in Big Sky, MT and enjoyed some amazing meals and fresh snow.

We stayed at a beautiful condo about 15 minutes away from the mountain to be closer to town. We booked it through the Beehive Property Management Company – I would highly recommend them! We had a hot tub and some lovely mountain decor.

There was so much amazing food there it was unbelievable. I have never tried elk, bison or trout and they were all delicious! Here’s a look at my yummy elk and bison Bolognese.

I would highly recommend Olive B’s Bistro in the meadow village as well and the Lone Mountain Ranch Dining Room and The Rainbow Ranch for dinner. We also had a great batch of nachos and beer at the Lone Peak Brewing Company!

If you’re looking to go skiing out west or just sight seeing, Big Sky has it all.

Beauty Wishlist

This time of year a lot of new products are coming out or generating a lot of buzz that I just can’t wait to get my hands on.

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita

I’ve never purchased anything but Charlotte Tilbury but I’ve heard so many great things about the line. I definitely have more than one product from her that I want but this eyeshadow palette just looks too beautiful to pass up.

Klorane Soothing and Relaxing Patches

I had a sample of these and they really do soothe like they say! Ive really been getting into eye patches and have to pick up more of these.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation Concealer

I saw Amelia Liana apply this on her youtube channel and it looked so flawless, need to try it! It also seems like a great two in one product to use on the go.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick

Also an Amelia Liana favorite, but I have been wanting a new liquid lipstick. The shade Soft Beige looks super pretty.

Albeit Contour Kit

I just hit pan on my Kat Von D contour palette and that one was a little bit too dark for me. This one looks perfect! I love the peachy tones and the gold packaging is so cute.

Artis Oval 7 Brush

These brushes have been on my wishlist for a while. But at $60 a brush, I haven’t been able to justify it. A girl can dream though!

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara

I’ve been in a mascara rut lately, I can’t find out that I’ve liked since Too Faced Better than Sex – but that one was constantly flaking onto the skin below my eyes. After much research, I take my mascara very seriously, I think I’ve found the mascara my lashes need. Will let you know if I love it!

Shape Tape Contour Concealer

This concealer is CONSTANTLY sold out, I’m not even entirely sure why it’s so special but I watched youtube Mallory Ervin apply it in a recent video and it looked amazing. Whenever I can get my hands on it, I’m going to pounce.

Let me know what your current beauty favorites are!

Skin Care Favorites

My skin has finally found a combination that it likes lately and I feel that not sharing would be a disservice. I have combination skin and it’s very sensitive to makeup and products, any little dirt causes a breakout. Due to this, I never sleep in my makeup and I try and use products made for sensitive skin.

Here’s some products I have been using since around September and so far I am breakout free and my skin has never been softer.

Firstly, I take my makeup off using the Boots Botanics Micellar water, gets every bit of my waterproof mascara off! I cleanse my face with The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Gel Wash. It’s super gentle but makes my skin feel so soft and clean.

Next I spray my face with the Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray, I tend to get reddish skin often and this really calms my skin down. Plus it smells amazing!

I like to use an intense moisturizer and eye cream because my skin can get pretty dehydrated at night. I received free samples of the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream and Hydrating Eye Cream and I love them, they don’t make my skin oily and my skin looks amazing when I wake up.

My all time favorite and life saving mask is the Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque. It either gets rid of all my breakouts or greatly reduces them. This is what I use before all big events and it always pulls through.

Caviar Pearl Milk Cleanser// Hydrafresh Toner

I also wanted to mention two of my long time favorites, I don’t use these products everyday but I love them. I had not ever seen this brand and have still yet to but these 24k Donna Bella products really leave my skin feeling refreshed and primed. This moisturizer/toner combo is a very light formula that smells amazing!
