Pink, Lace and Pom Poms

GTP_129.jpg

I picked up this pink lace shift dress from my favorite online style steal site, Shein.com and am loving it! It’s not too short which is always a concern with their clothes and it has a great lining! The bell sleeves and pom poms are so cute and trendy as well. I mean anything with pom poms right now is on my wish list!

My favorite part was that it was a complete style steal of a Tularosa dress from last season that was just too much for me to spend on a trendy piece. This dress would be perfect for a bridal shower, dinner party or any spring event.

New Year, New Closet?

Illusion Waist Tank // Faux Suede Bomber Jacket// Embroidered Boots

There’s something about a new year that makes you really want to change up your wardrobe. I for one am thinking I want to wear more black this year, I have never really had in my wardrobe and I’m feeling like as a New Yorker it’s a must. Never the less, here are some items that I’ve been eyeing to change up my style in 2017.

Take My Away Wrap Blouse // Navy Velvet Body Suit

These are two styles that I have been wanting in my wardrobe, I can’t get enough of the collar trend or anything velvet.

black-jumpsuit

Black Strapless Jumpsuit – also comes in Navy! This is exactly like a Lovers and Friends one EXCEPT its $59. Perfect date night or going out look!

gray-booties

Gray Booties – Super cute and unique!

Beaded Mini Skirt// Splendid Coated Leggings

Kind of obsessed with embroidered skirts lately, they are such a statement piece for your outfit. These leggings are also super comfortable and “look” like leather without breaking the bank.

Fur and Knit Vest // All Mine Sweater // One Teaspoon Fuzzy Black Sweater

These are a few pieces from Nordstrom that I had wanted to get in 2016, but didn’t purchase, and you know you sometimes just can’t forget about certain clothes you want? The red sweater is a nice length and I love the color.

What items do you want for 2017?

Spring Break Essentials

palm trees

With Spring Break season in full affect, you can never have too many suggestions on what to bring to make your vacation go off without a hitch.

For me, I always over pack because I’m worried I won’t have enough outfits or I’ll need certain outfits for certain things or a bathing suit will get ruined so I bring a few extra…let’s face it I just pack WAY too much.

So here are my essentials you need that will have you well prepared:

  1. A Multi-Purpose Cover Up – this is key, if you bring a cover up that can also be acceptable as a dress for lunch or dinner, your wardrobe can be set for that day and your packing is cut in half! This versatile black dress is from Revolve Clothing)

coverup

  1. Makeup Bag full of must haves – for me on vacation this would be a BB or CC cream (with sunscreen! – It Cosmetics CC Cream), Makeup Forever waterproof concealer, waterproof mascara (I love the L’oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara), a great waterproof gel liner  (Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner) and a highlighter than can double as eye shadow, Que Jacklyn Hill’s Champagne Pop.
  2. Beach Bag – I always use the Scout Bags at the beach because you want a durable bag that can withstand the sand and is waterproof, these are perfect and come in so many patterns.

  1. Hat – perfect for a cute photo opp and to shade you from the scorching sun!
  2. Reusable Water bottle – my Swell Water Bottle is just about glued to me in my everyday life and I definitely wouldn’t forget it on a vacation, it keeps your water cool in that hot sun all day long.

  1. Hair Tamer – this is crucial to my beach outings, my hair will dry frizzy and crazy if I go for a swim in the ocean. I always bring these two products in my beach bag to tame my mane. (Johnson and Johnson No More Tangles, Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream)
  2. Day to Night flip flops (try TKEES and Sam Edelman)

9.SUNSCREEN and/or tanning oil

10.Jean shorts (My favorites are American Eagle and Carmar Denim)

11. Your Favorite Sunnies – Of course!

And my number one tip for spring break – get a gel manicure before you go, your nails won’t get messed up from sand, ocean water or any other shenanigans that go on!

Have a great trip and Happy Reading!
